According to Leechiu Property Consultants, some BPO firms are reluctant to set up facilities in Mindanao due to the governments imposition of martial law in the region.

“I guess the only problem in Mindanao right now is the issue of martial law and security, or the perception of security… There’s a lot of office space coming into the market in Davao (and Cagayan de Oro), but the tenants cannot go because of martial law.”
Mindanao was placed under martial law after Islamic State inspired militants overran Marawi City more than a year ago.
Peace and Order!
But despite the prevailing apprehension of BPO’s to venture into Mindanao due to Martial Law, some have decided to expand – a client of Leechiu Properties has even decided to grow their Davao operations.
“I hope the government will lift the martial law, particularly in Davao and Cagayan de Oro, so that the BPO industry can go there.”
According to Leechiu Property Consultants, 1.4M square meters in office space transactions were tracked as of September this year; the challenge is in increasing the share of Mindanao to increase job generation. pushAUX.com
