Elvin Joseph Laput, 24, call center agent, allegedly a supplier-seller of ecstasy, was caught last February 7 in Barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City, by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-7) in Central Visayas (PRO-7), and by the Police Regional Office in the region (PRO-7).
PDEA-7 Regional Director Wardley Getalia said that Elvin Joseph Laput was in possession of 15 pieces of ecstasy with a total street value of P25,000 (each pill sells for around P1000 t0 P1,500). The suspect was held at the PDEA-7 office
Elvin Joseph Laput initially claimed that he did not own the drugs, and that they were entrusted to him by a certain “Matoy” – later however, the suspect claimed it was his first time to sell the prohibited drug, and that his supplier promised him a commission that he would use for rent payment.
PDEA Regional Director Wardley Getalia, “Sa Cebu City lang natin siya namomonitor. So possible lang ang nagbibigay sa kaniya and we will be getting where this ecstasy came from…”
As per the police, businessman Kenneth Dong, a known supplier of ecstasy in Cebu, was arrested in Muntinlupa last February 4, in relation to his allegedly acting as middleman in the P6.4-billion shabu shipment that slipped past the Bureau of Customs in 2017.
