Ricardo Sta. Ana, a CSR working at the Bonifacio Global City, was arrested at work through a warrant issued by Judge Gil Jude Sta. Maria Jr. of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 102 (Santa Rosa, Laguna).
Mister Sta. Ana is charged with two counts of parricide for the murder of his wife, Pearl Helene, and one-year-old son, Denzel.
A Violent Death from 2016
Mister Sta. Ana’s family were at home when two men posing as repairmen entered their premises. Pearl Helene was raped before she and her son were bludgeoned to death with a hammer.
A few days after the rape-murder, one of the men supposedly hired by Mister Sta. Ana to kill his family surrendered to the police. As per the primary suspect, Mister Sta. Ana alleges that his wife had an affair and that he wanted to get even.
The Department of Justice, back in August 2016, dismissed the charges leveled against Sta. Ana due to insufficient evidence, but Lt. Col. Eugene Orate of the Santa Rosa police said that additional testimony surfaced which led to the revival of the case.
